Router placement

Where to put your router for better coverage.

Wi-Fi

  1. Place the router in a central, elevated, open location — not inside a metal cabinet or on the floor.
  2. Keep it away from microwaves, thick concrete walls, and dense appliance clusters when possible.
  3. Avoid covering antennas or stacking the router under other electronics that radiate heat.
  4. After moving the router, retest the weakest room before changing other settings.
